VANCOUVER, BC, March 24, 2015 – Chrysalix Energy Venture Capital, one of the longest standing and most active clean energy venture capital firms, announced the addition of 30-year executive business strategist, Peter Bryant to the firm’s Advisory Board. As a Chrysalix Advisory Board member, Peter will draw on his extensive expertise in growth and innovation, natural resources and energy, software, technology commercialization and corporate venture capital, to provide counsel to Chrysalix and its portfolio companies on growth and business strategies. With more than three decades of experience developing and driving high-growth strategies for companies in key resource markets, including the US, Asia Pacific and Europe, Peter has advised executive teams at a range of enterprises, from emerging businesses to Global Fortune 500 companies. As a standing Senior Fellow of the Kellogg Innovation Network (KIN), Peter continues to collaborate with corporate leaders, non-profits and government, with the purpose of creating prosperity within the global economy, environment and community.
“We welcome Peter Bryant to the Chrysalix Advisory Board. His years of experience working with and advising corporate innovation leaders, combined with his expertise gained from senior leadership roles, will provide our portfolio companies with valuable support and guidance as they work to commercialize game changing innovations for the resource economy,” stated Wal van Lierop, Chrysalix President & CEO. “The potential for sustainable innovation to usher in great change and help industries in transition, including oil and gas, utilities and mining, while providing economic opportunities and environmental sustainability has reached a new level of maturity on the way to mainstream acceptance. Having been a trusted advisor to the executive teams at many of the world’s large resource companies, we are privileged to have Peter as a member of the Chrysalix team.”
“I am excited to join the Chrysalix Advisory Board. In my many years advising resource company leaders, a common thread has been the need to stimulate start up activity and venture capital availability in the resources industry, most especially in mining, to address the growing demand for transformative innovation. I see Chrysalix as having a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in achieving these goals,” said Peter Bryant.
In addition to his role on the Chrysalix Advisory Board, Peter is an active advisor to startups and a mentor for accelerators Clean Launch, Founders and Innovation Pavilions, and currently serves as a Partner at Clareo, a strategy-consulting firm that advises leaders on accelerated growth and innovation strategy. He has held senior leadership roles at global companies, including General Electric and Computer Associates, and has exercised his entrepreneurial talent having been CEO/President for two emerging technology companies. Furthermore, Peter is a Senior Advisor to the investment bank Q Advisors, a board member of the Colorado Innovation Network (COIN), and holds numerous board positions.
This announcement comes just months after retired Royal Dutch Shell Executive Committee member, Matthias Bichsel joined the Chrysalix Advisory Board.
